18849_drunk_green_three_eyed_horned_monster_with_yellow_hair_stumbling_and_spilling_bubbly_beer.jpg1.Annual Ervin Party planned for mid-May on Ervin’s Farm. After some discussion about who to contact and why, we decided to have Roman contact our new County Commissioner Larry Payne, as well as Officer Rick (Crossen) to voice the following concerns, as well as request guidance on how to pursue:

– the issues of the free and safe passage on the road for both emergency vehicles and local traffic

– the health concerns of the “illegal dump” and littering following the event

– the likelihood of people driving under the influence.

– general noise problems

– parking encroaching into Beechwood

Roman will report back on the time with PAYNE as well as input from Rick.

2. Roads/ Tree Cutting (Ripping) – We all marveled over the hack job the county did “trimming” the trees recently. Phil voiced concern over the physical condition of the roads in Beechwood and it was decided that when we are able to meet with Larry Payne (see above) we will also get a “check in” on roads.

tax.gif3. Beechwood Tax-Deductible? Brad volunteered to make a call to see if indeed Beechwood is the “type” of non-profit that people can donate to (think “inheritance, etc.) and be tax deductible. Brad will report back next meeting.

4. Bus Stop still up? Yes lazy Roman has not torn it down yet, but hopes to over the holiday break when Mark Richardson is in town to help. Concern over “saving” the sign that points “Cornell” but assurance was made to try to save it. Roman will tear that beast down over break and report back next meeting. UPDATE – As Roman prepared to tear down the bus stop, he realized he is a musician / web designer who’s livelyhood relies on his hand, he then took off his coat in favor of a warm cup of coffee and plans to discuss other options at the next meeting.

5. Beechwood Picnic (Fall). We all agreed the recent picnic held at the lake was a lot of fun, and we’ll aim for an April and August bi-annual meeting down there.

Next Steps:

Roman: – Contact Officer Rick and Larry Payne, Tear down bus stop, website.

Brad: – Beechwood tax deductible?

Phil: – final polish to letter to county on Ervin Party.

Next meeting – Monday, February 3, 7 pm
